2026 Event Cancelled

Ourea Events previously organised the Cape Wrath Ultra, an 8 day supported stage race along the Cape Wrath Trail from Fort William to Cape Wrath. Ourea Events went into administration in March 2026. The Cape Wrath Ultra 2026 event was cancelled. Ultra X have agreed to give race credits to those who were entered (as part of their acquisition of Dragon’s Back Race and Northern Traverse). Please see latest news articles. Any further enquiries regarding Ourea Events should be sent to the administrators (see email address in this article). The Cape Wrath Ultra trademark has been acquired by Ultra Endurance Series Ltd, the organisers of The Spine Race, and they have announced plans to organise “The Wrath” in 2027 - a non-stop race on the Cape Wrath Trail.

The Cape Wrath Ultra absolutely blew my expectations out of the water. From the amazing scenery to just the community when in camp and on course was second to none!

I don’t have enough superlatives. I am so grateful to everyone in the event team for making the Cape Wrath Ultra week so special. Breathtaking views meant for a week that far exceeded expectations.

This was easily the best-organized most professionally-run event I’ve ever participated in, let alone witnessed. Shane and the Ourea team left nothing to chance, displayed incredible agility and good humour no matter what transpired, and cultivated an atmosphere wherein success - though never guaranteed - was made more than possible.
